What? What do they mean by that?

The overall idea is that only a few species tolerate living with humans at all. There seem to be two main kinds. Cats are one of the ones that actually have instincts for socializing with us.

Several more species, but two kinds of...what they're calling "domesticated". Sometimes it means a species has those social instincts. Like cats. But sometimes it just means the species can be kept for use in agriculture. There are equivalents to Tauros and Miltank, plus a lot of others I can't think of off the top of my head. Mudsdale.

Everything else - "wild animals" - are so...far apart from this society that those two things are lumped together, just because they are part of human society somehow.

I...think they are, actually, they came up in one list - but I was looking for cats, so I didn't take time to check that out.

Yupyup. We can live side by side with Pokemon, but the animals here are a room over.

Venting about that felt good, but he got so into it he doesn't really remember how the conversation ended up there. Something about...oh right the, uh, excursion he just came back from.]

I got a job there. [the cat place. So that makes two part-time things, with the department store.]

Probably not bad. Haven't actually started yet. [He is maybe a little bashful about the whole thing, since it's...a cute little cafe...which lacks a certain cool factor from a distance...] The pay is pretty good, I think.
