[He gets to Mukuro's cafe after sundown, and he comes back even later, covered in cat hair and full of thoughts.

He's pretty much forgotten about the Silvally plush, actually, or at least forgotten that that happened today. (Something does kind of...nag at him as he climbs the stairs though. Wasn't there something...?)

He unlocks the door and steps in, unsuspecting prey.]

[Emmet is sitting at the dining room table. Just the light on above him, the rest of the room dark, of course, he was going to do it for the dramatic effect. He was still in his work uniform which made him look like anyone else that worked at the subway.

He was smiling as Gladion entered the apartment.]

[Emmet's voice is monotone. Yes, he saw the plush, and it has been on his mind ever since he laid eyes on it.]

[Emmet's good (playful.) intentions don't quite go received, unfortunately; as delicate a topic as Silvally is attached to, and as high as his guard's been the last month, Gladion kind of

tenses up about it.

He doesn't expect anything mean from Emmet, but for a moment he's just caught in uncertainty as to whether this is a prank or something more serious; he just. Stands there.]

There are Pokemon Plushes here and you didn't tell me? I am Emmet and I am saddened.

I wanted to pet it. Which one is it? I have never seen one like it before. But its obviously a Pokemon and not the fauna they have here.

[Oh. Alrigh- NOPE okay it is, in fact, the original question he was worried about, which is way better than whatever the hell he was about to start bracing himself for.

It is also the question which he spent a whole walk scripting his answer to, luckily. This internal battle has been over with for hours.]

Yup, I liked museums. Was going to visit one day. Silvally looks verrrry strong, have you done double battles with them?

[Emmet looks down for a moment. Then looks back up, smile still on his face.]

It's weird here, huh? I miss my Partner too.

Yeah. [Muttered.] I just - [actually hang on he's gonna like, move to sit down instead of hovering weirdly in the walkway.] Just came back from a place full of cats. They're not - anything like Pokemon.

[He was like chewing on his tongue the whole time to not vent at Mukuro about it because holy shit that was not how he needed that meeting to go.]

What are they like? I've watched pigeons on the street, nothing like pidoves. It's like a parody, yup.

The cats do. But there's something wrong, it's like they don't - like there's a wall in front of you. Like - maybe they think you're a cat? It's not the same.

Maybe it was them acting odd because you are new? [Emmet is trying to be helpful.] And soon they will act like themselves and be like 'Cat- Cat' at you.

[Emmet does not know what sound a cat makes.]

I went to the library earlier. Obviously I barely skimmed the surface, but cats are something the people here call a "domesticated species".

What? What do they mean by that?

The overall idea is that only a few species tolerate living with humans at all. There seem to be two main kinds. Cats are one of the ones that actually have instincts for socializing with us.
